Hey there! Happy New Year!
Can you believe it? Here we are in 2023, and it’s been over two years since I published my last blog post. (I mean, I won’t blame you for not noticing. Ha!) Since that time, we all have moved through the COVID-19 pandemic and its various phases. Of course, many wonderful and terrifying things have happened around the world, but I don’t need to update you on the news. I imagine you’ve been through a lot, too, and it’s my sincerest wish that you and yours are well today.
As for me, my family has been adjusting to life with two young children and all the waves Waverley has been making since she was born (PSA: be careful what you write!). Also, we built a new house, which demanded over a year of my spare time and all of my brain cells – especially as I was nursing a small human and entertaining a toddler at the same time. Therefore, I took an intentional hiatus from blogging in order to focus on this very special season in my family’s life.
Now that we have completed our house and now that our 5- and 2-year olds are in preschool (part-time), it feels like we have hit the RESET button and I feel like…
I am ready to get back to writing about my favorite subject: TRAVEL!
2022 was the year I returned to international travel. In the summer, we returned to Switzerland as a family of four. It was such a gift to visit with dear friends and spend time in the mountains, which made the challenges of traveling with kids totally worth it. In the fall, Justin and I took a quick trip to Italy, which was simply fabulous. Notes forthcoming ;-)
Over the last few years, I have continued to craft a number of tailor-made travel itineraries for clients. It’s been an absolute joy to design trips to Switzerland and Peru, the UK and Italy, and even to New York City. Through this little business of mine, I get to travel vicariously through my clients – ah, I can almost taste the Florentine steak now – and participate in their adventure from afar.
The whole purpose of Global Heartbeat Travel is to equip independent travelers with an itinerary that will suit them best. In addition to designing destination outlines, my job is to wade through the noise of the internet and provide the right information to make a client’s trip run smoothly.
If you need support in planning your next big trip, please contact me and let’s make your travel dreams come true.
Thanks for joining me on my journey around the world and through family life.
Now, let’s get back to traveling!
