Before I went to Zagreb, I didn’t really know what to expect from the Croatian capital. While strolling through the city center, I encountered a place that blends historic legacies with modern futures. I tried to capture on camera some of the details that caught my eye in order to give you a snapshot tour of Zagreb.
Zagreb has a few standouts, the most unusual being The Church of St. Mark. With its brightly colored tiled roof and a large open square, this unique landmark is a top attraction.
The Zagreb Cathedral also takes a stand in the line of most popular tourist sites… and along the city skyline. Not only is the cathedral the tallest building in Zagreb, it’s the tallest in all of Croatia.
Yet, for all its attractions, perhaps the best thing to do when visiting Zagreb is simply to wonder the streets with little agenda and at a relaxed pace. For therein, you may find treasures.
Zdravo! Have you ever been to Zagreb? If so, how did you find the city? Are you a fan of colorful, imperfect building walls – like me?
